I don't like sudden and unexpected change, but it seems The SixtyOne.com changed the layout and how things look on the pages. I was dismayed to find my custom playlists gone until I came to this AreaSixtyOne site and read the blog entry down on the bottom... they say they saved our playlists and will return them... hmmmm.

Still I don't like sudden changes when I have to look around for things like points, playlists, my top 3 songs, etc. form the comfortable places they were in when I first joined.

But then I have this problem on all of these web services like Yahoo, Google Reader, Facebook, MySpace, Last FM, etc.... I get real used to on how things look and work and I hate having to change. Why can't they let us have an option to keep things as is?

About the only new thing that I will probably like is having TheSixtyOne songs that I play scrobble back to LAST FM.

If you haven't read this blog entry at MaxBumps.net, I highly recommend it. Well-articulated and sincerely felt.

Read it last night & I couldn't agree more!

man, I was just really getting into the thing. Pretty crappy. I looked at cherrypeel.com and even created my account there, but it just doesn't have the same 'traction' T61 had. I still like some of the music on T61, but the game is not so fun any more. You have to work too hard to play.

One of the big complaints I've heard elsewhere (but not here) is about the new 250-character limit on wall posts, but I just left a comment on FranMag's wall that went over. I got a little float-up message saying my message was too long ("250 character limit -- 259 characters" or something like that), but my message still posted. I'm going to play around with that to see what the real limit is.

I'm actually not too bothered by this limit, being an experienced Twitterer, but it's good to know that it might be a soft limit :)

Well like anything else, with time I've gotten kind of used to the changes... doesn't mean I like em. I mean my custom playlists are still gone. And why is not possible for The 61 to just post our total points on our profile page near how many songs we played and how many times someone listened to my radio.

The wall posting limit is not a bother for me since 1. I hardly post to the wall and 2. I am also used to Twitters' 140 character limit.

It seems like you cannot just simply bump a song among your favorites. They insist you have to listen to them before you bump. And I am still having the same bump and timing problem that I have alluded to in other posts.

The game aspect is not a very big deal for me. Again I like the LastFM scrobble back, I don't like the missing 3 panes for The Rack.
But I'll still come back because there is some truly good music at The SixtyOne and many tracks are freely downloadable.

I want my playlists back. I'd like to see what those I've subscribed to are checking out. I would like to change my top 3. So many terrible changes!

Hm. I don't remember anyone mentioning this, so I didn't find out myself until this morning: First-bumps can be awarded only once every twenty-four hours now, not once every twelve hours! If I'd known this, I wouldn't have first-bumped that song I felt kinda bad for last night, because this morning there was a new Kate Linne song (I love her!) song with zero bumps and I sat there for like five minutes waiting for someone to get it first! Argh!
