OK. I see several people on this forum who have more than 2000 songs listened to at The SixtyOne. Me I haven't even reached 1000 songs as of this posting. I don't listen to the SixtyOne as often as many of you. I like listening to my other music sources such as my iTunes, iPod, Finetune and even the good old radio.
I have downloaded nearly 200 songs from TheSixtyone, bought a handful of them and incorprate them into my mixes with other music I have on iTunes and my iPods. So in one regard I am still enjoying some of the music I hear at The SixtyOne when I am not on it.
One of the main reasons why I don't listen to this or any other streaming site for very long is when I am at work our IT Nazi's have a bandwidth limit enforced and they restrict people from listening to streaming audio content as well as video by disabling the flash on the networked computers.
So for the most part I listen to The SixtyOne and other streaming content when I am at home.
Anyway how many hours per day do you listen to The SixtyOne? I think for me less than 90 minutes a day average, sometimes none at all, though I log in just to get that 20 free points for logging in.
Are most of you listening on your computers or streaming through a mobile device such as the iPhone?
Again I do listen to songs I got from The SixtyOne on my iPod, and that is about as mobile as I get.
I listen for a few hours every day; at least two, but as many as twelve. It is true that I teach for a considerable chunk of the day, so no T61 then, but I'll listen at lunch and during my prep period, and during those long hours between the end of instruction and the time I finally pack it in and head home (often that's seven or eight hours), I'll usually have T61 playing nonstop. It's my primary music source when I'm not home. And although some advise differently, I still think maxing out on rack points is not a bad way to gain those couple of hundred points per day. They don't cost anything except time, and it's a good chance to catch stuff I might have missed in the daily browse.
I don't have net access at home (sorta by design), so I'm more likely to listen to my iTunes or CDs in those hours at home.
I used to listen a lot more than I do now. I found out that my home internet is limited to 10GB and I've been going over. They charge me $5 for every GB I go over. They told me that T61 eats up a lot so I limit myself to an hour or so a day. The rest of the time I listen to my itunes. :)
