So T61 has gone and changed again. No surprise there. They are implementing a Heart-Based Reputation System. If you go to your Settings and look under the Preferences tab you will see a box that says "use the new heart-based reputation system (beta)." Check the box and save your settings.
This will switch you to the new reputation system. No worries, you can always go back to the point system if you want (for now).
You can read more about it on their FAQ page (link at bottom of page).
Here's what I've learned in this very short time of using the new system:
1. You are only alloted a certain number of "hearts" to give out each day. I have yet to determine how they assign hearts for each person but it seems to be different for everyone, depending on your level and amount of points you have.
2. Your Reputation is equal to your current points.
3. You can earn extra Reputation points and extra Hearts for the day by listening to The Rack. It seems to change back and forth between songs on whether you receive a Reputation point or a Heart point.
4. You will not be able to see the amount of people bumping or hearting for 24 hours. They want you to "heart" because you like the song -- not because it's popular.
5. I like that once you "heart" a song, a red heart appears letting you know that you've hearted it already. Nice touch because sometimes I forget which songs I've bumped.
There's more, but I'm tired and it's late and I have to get to bed. Try it! You may like it! Or not...
