Okay, so I'm a level 10 now, which means I can revive songs. What the heck does this mean and how do I do it? Do some songs expire and then need to be brought back from the dead for another shot at the homepage?

Reviving is just about putting your point muscle behind an old song to give it new life on the home page where exposure is greater. If a song has made the homepage before and since fallen down the hot page after a certain point it becomes eligible to 'revive'. I think it has to have been at least a month since it hit the homepage. Reviving a song sends it back to the homepage so that it can get more attention. Reviving is done by hitting the revive button and then bidding on the song against other listeners' revive bids. The bidding starts at 1,000 pts and the next person attempting to revive a song must bid at least 50 to 100 pts more, it will set the minimum you have to bid automatically and you can increase that if you want to. Recently Veiralistens revived a song by bidding over 100,000 pts. Most revives are not that expensive but the more listeners on at a given time usually the more expensive the revives get. The successful bid is the highest bid in a given number of hours. If your bid is not the highest you're not charged any points and your bid is just forgotten and you'll have to re-bid to try again. If you go to the browse page and change it to sort by revive bids you'll see all of the songs currently bidding for the revive. If you're the highest bidder your song goes to the homepage and the 'found by ______' changes to 'revived by_____' and you get a badge of that song attached to your profile page. You will not earn the points back based on the number of new bumps unless it gets bumped into the stratosphere. It's just a way to show some love for a favorite old song.

Now it totally makes sense. Thanks! What's the point reward for the first level of Godlike? Is it 100 points?

In the spirit of exploring everything T61 has for me to play with, I submitted my first revive bid!

I think I have slim hopes of winning this one, but I intend to keep trying until I get one!

I figured I'd play with reviving as well. Bid 2100 on a song. Turns out, all the different songs up for revival compete against each other. In other words, since I bid 2100 on another song, scrivener's 2050 bid for Kyrie was no longer the frontrunner nor eligible to be revived. Soon after, yet another song was submitted for revival at 2200 points, so my song was out of contention.

I think scrivener's revival bid was a good one. A cool song that only saw 500 bumps in its first trip up the charts. I'd actually bid on a song with 1200 bumps, so I wasn't sure how much further it would go. Then, it turned out the artist profile under which it was created was a fake one, made by a fan of Glen Hansard (of "Once" fame) rather than Glen himself. So... I'm glad I was outbid!

@Scrivener, yes the first level of Godlike is 100 pts. All the achievements actually have the same point scale. If you're ever curious you can go to the leaders page (to the right of browse), select the listener tab and you'll see the ranking of the top 1000 listeners. Pick someone at the top like the # ranked listener (by level - points) the Queen Mother - Annie B, go to their stat page and select the achievement tab. Most of the top listeners have maxed out the achievements except for dj and mosh of course, and you can see the point spread for each achievement..

@Ryan, if you want you can always go to your song of choice and click the revive button again to up your bid, it will again automatically set your minimum bid to outbid the highest bidder so far. So you could keep doing this until your bid wins or you just don't want to spend anymore. They set it at incremental windows, a couple of hours of I think, and at the end of that time the highest bidder wins. The fewer the # of listeners on at the time generally the cheaper it is to get a revive but then your song also gets back to the homepage during a lull and is in danger of falling of the homepage too fast.

Well, I revived "Night Falls" by The Casual Lust, which was one of the first tracks I ever bumped on T61 (reminded me of the Sundays). Cost me 1,250 points, showed up about halfway down the home page and is just about to fall off a day later.

I got 100 points back for the achievement and two points from subsequent bumps. So... this is definitely something you do for the love of the song and the "Godlike" badge, and not for any point return!

By "halfway down" do you mean halfway down the first page of the homepage, or do you mean right around page 5 of the homepage? That entire 10-page (or so) area is considered the homepage, so if you're still showing up on page 1, you're still near the top!
